What is a PA?
A PA is a nationally certified and state-licensed medical professional. PAs practice medicine on healthcare teams with physicians and other providers.
A period of extensive clinical training precedes obtaining a license to practice as a PA, which is similar to physician training but shorter in duration, and includes all systems of the human body.
PAs conduct physical exams, order and interpret tests, diagnose illness, develop treatment plans, perform procedures, prescribe medications, and advise on preventative health care.
